| Blood Donation Camp on the eve of birthday of Subhash Chakraborty on 18th March, 2010 | |

It was on 18th March when the great soul Subhash Chakraborty was born. He was not only a politician but also a passionate soul whose heart bled for the common people. He realized that awareness amongst the mass had to be grown for donating blood to save soul of others. He started the herculean task by himself when some people in West Bengal were after blood of others fighting for political and other differences. Subhash Chakraborty earnestly called all to come and join hand for the noble cause of saving others by voluntarily donating blood and organize regular blood donation camp in different places. It is more than two decades since then that blood donation has been growing more appealing to common to people. Subhash Chakraborty left us for heavenly abode on 3rd August, 2009, yet his inspiration energizes us to do good thing for common people. |

On
the eve of his birthday, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at FD Park,
Salt Lak, where thousands of people came forward to donate blood. A total
of 1000 puch of blood was collected by Blood Banks of RG Kar Medical College,
Life Line and Dr. Subodh Sarkar Cancer Research Institute, Eminent personalities
from all walk of life joined the noble venture. In the afternon, there
was a seminar at Derozero Hall of Presidency College where personalities
like Gautam Ghosh, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Wilfred D'Costa remembered
and narrated the great activities of the beloved soul. Pather Panchali
paid homage to its patron Subhash Chakraborty through these activities
to keep him live in the mind of people. |
